Connecting to the Usenet is very quick and easy to do with Newshosting. Connecting the Usenet is similar to accessing email.
First you need to create a Newshosting Usenet account on our newsgroup servers by generating a personal, unique user name and password. You can create a new Usenet account here. Once you have an account, you will need a program called a newsreader.
A newsreader is an app that allows you to read, search, download and post user-generated content and discussions to the Usenet. We highly recommend our own Newshosting Usenet Newsreader for access. If you do not use the Newshosting Usenet Newsreader, you will need to configure your newsreader of choice with the following server settings:
Hostname: news.newshosting.com
Port: 119
Additional NNTP Ports: 23, 25, 80, 3128
SSL Ports: 563, 443
Newshosting offers Several other server options, including IPv6 connectivity, if you feel that you might be able to get better connectivity that way. Please see all the server options below. NNTP/SSL ports listed above apply to these servers as well.
